The Eclipse open source ecosystem keeps growing fast, not only through its open source IDE environment, but also as a vertical platform; it represents the most successful model to date for supporting collaborative industrial development of product-ready technologies. Through open governance, transparent development processes and a commercial-friendly licensing model, Eclipse supports a new model for companies to share the cost and risk of technology development.

For embedded systems development, it fosters the use of seamless suites of tools that solve the needs of engineering teams for collaborative developments, allowing each actor in the development value chain to concentrate on his intrinsic value add.

Geensoft is leveraging on the Eclipse technology foundation, to accelerate the adoption, in the embedded engineering space, of integrated tool platforms entirely dedicated to project and process centric concerns. The novel AUTOSAR Builder tool suite has been developed on this model, as well as prominent R&D projets: O4A and Edona.
