Controlbuild Design
ControlBuild-Design is a powerful tool for industrial automation systems design.
The success of a project depends on the quality and precision of its
functional specifications. Using ControlBuild-Design, users can create a virtual
prototype of the command control system and the physical installation in order
to validate the functional specification through simulations.
ControlBuild keywords are:
Flexible
Modeling with top-down or bottom-up approach
High
level of communication between different users (system, software and
electrical engineers / technicians, customers, suppliers...)
Know-how
management
Design
Validation through simulations and graphical animations
Quality
Design Document Generation

Flexible Modeling
ControlBuild-Design is a CASE tool designed to validate functional specifications of SW control systems.

ControlBuild-Design does not require adherence to any specific method. The tool easily adapts itself to the design methods currently in use in your company and can serve to assist users in the design phase.
With ControlBuild-Design's user-friendly interface, users can choose to work either in the IEC 61131.3 languages (ST: Structured Text, SFC: Sequential Function Chart or Grafcet, LD: Ladder Diagram, FBD: Function Block Diagrams) or the C language.
The most appropriate language will be used for
modeling the different systems functionalities (combinational, sequential, requirements,
algorithms),. The complete system prototype is obtained through hierarchical
assembly of these functions using a graphical editor.
Re-using Know-how
With ControlBuild-Design, users can classify, archive and reuse the company's
know-how in design rules standards and component libraries so as to improve
the productivity and quality of the designs.
Validation through Simulation
ControlBuild-Design offers powerful means to verify, as early as possible, the
automation system's conformance to the Statement of Work.

Simple and user-friendly, ControlBuild-Design
helps users to understand and analyze the behavior or their real-time system
through:
Different simulation and test
modes (breakpoint, step by step, continuous, backup and saving of the current
simulation state)
Graphical test and code debug
tools
Dynamic viewing of variables
Event traces with graphical representations
for different event types (trends curves)
Tools for the creation of graphical
interfaces (test panels, animation models, etc.)
Test scenarios
Remote and multi client-server
configurations.
In order to validate the specifications and the design under real-life conditions,
ControlBuild-Design provides users with extended libraries to help with the
modeling, simulation and analysis of an automation system:
Operative component (electromechanical
equipment, machinery, etc.)
Objects with moving rules
Servo control, regulation and
filters
Energy and information flows
(temperature, pressure, etc.)
Uncertain events or actions (mechanical
failures, break downs, operators' behavior, etc.)
Uncertain events or actions (mechanical
failures, break downs, operators' behavior, etc.), Test panels and animated
views of the automation system or installation
In order to reduce and optimize the time spent on the generation of the documentation, ControlBuild-Design provides a tool that can help users parameterize and describe documentation. Users can choose the sections in their documents, insert explanations, include code descriptions (both textual and graphical) of all components in their designs, including application architecture, system behaviors, functional behaviors, description of variables, etc.
The documents can be archived and exported as RTF
or HTML to standard commercial editors and Web navigators.
